The Annual General Meeting of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Association, 11th May 2007, at Her Majesty's, Tower of London, was attended by Commissioner, Alec Coleman, of the Legion of Frontiersmen Volunteer Reserve. The question was asked; to clear a long vaunted assumption of an affiliation between the LF & the RRF. ‘Was there any affiliation to the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, with the Legion of Frontiersman, in it this day and age?’

It was asserted that there no longer existed any affiliation between the two organisations and the only one that persists is one of a historical nature, in the fact that the ‘Legion’ during a World War One, formed the 25th Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers, this body was disbanded in 1919. That being the case, there no longer existed any direct or substantive connection, (other than the historical one), with the Royal Fusiliers and any one who said otherwise, would be perpetuating an assumption that had no substance whatsoever in fact.

THE PRINCE’S TRUST The Prince of Wales set up the above mentioned Trust in 1976 to give young people opportunities that they would not otherwise have had. Approximately 660,000, some of them dis-advantaged, have been helped by the Trust’s activities, the range of which continues to expand. The Prince’s Trust has a turnover of 32 million, and is largest of the charitable organisations that His Royal Highness takes a guiding interest. The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation was established in 1979, and was originally known as the Prince of Wales’s Trust. The Foundation distributes money for a large range of causes at home and overseas, in 1997 this amounted to 150,000.
The Foundation sells books by the Prince of Wales and lithographs made of his own water colours, the royalties from which, together with the disposable profits from Duchy Originals Limited forming a great, part of its income.
The Prince is also the permanent patron or president of more than 270 organisations, and is the temporary patron or president of over 100 others.
